Audi is on an ambitious path towards cars which can deliver a safe autonomous driving mode in expanding operational design domains. Our development team wants to do a research with a particular focus on dependable technical architectures for automated driving (AD) in combination with an top-down event-chain approach.

Job Purpose/Role

The main challenge is to get an dependable technical architecture for automated driving (AD). Our approach is to use event-chains in order to get different viewpoints, to do focused analysis and to apply measures incrementally.
To address this, you will develop new workflows and combine different approaches. Your master thesis shall contain theoretical aspects and

The research shall regard at least this questions:

  • What does dependable mean, what are the most important attributes for AD?
  • Which measures can be used to reach this goals?
  • Which architectural patterns can be used?
  • Which dependability analysis exist?
  • What is especially important in regard to E/E architecture with ECUs (including software deployed), vehicle network communication, power supplies
  • How to use event-chains in an top-down approach

 Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • Course of studies in a technical area (e. g. computer science, mathematics or comparable) and excellent academic track record
  • Experience in automotive specific standards (AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ISO 21448, SAE J3016)
  • The ability of self-organization and a high level of self-motivation complete your profile
