Job description

Shaping the future: in an interdisciplinary team, we develop big data services and actively drive digital transformation along the product lifecycle.

Think holistically: together with domain experts from the departments, we develop comprehensive software solutions that help our customers and partners optimize their product development. We continuously train and develop ourselves and our tech stack (On-Prem & Cloud), evaluate new software approaches, and use agile methods where appropriate.

Taking responsibility: as a Data Engineer/Software Engineer, you are responsible for the conception and implementation of data pipelines (stream & batch) from various test benches along the PEM electrolysis product lifecycle. In close collaboration with the team, you apply code reviews and Git workflows and continuously develop them. You evaluate Bosch internal, third-party, and open-source software on the market and further develop our technology strategy.

Inspire enthusiasm: as part of the cross-departmental cooperation in the development of PEM electrolysis products, you are the link between the software world and domain expertise. You are involved in the development across Europe and actively contribute to successful development through scalable solutions in data engineering.

Experience collaboration: you work closely with all stakeholders along the data journey. You are fully involved in the planning of software and data architecture, deployment, and quality assurance in data engineering. In addition, you regularly gain insights into the areas of expertise of your colleagues in, for example, Bosch Product Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, or UX/UI topics.

Qualifications

Personality: you are a team player and passionately create modern big data infrastructures.

Experience: you have experience in the development of data-centric software in the area of stream & batch processing and in an agile environment.

Know-how: you have solid knowledge of modern batch and stream processing technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka, as well as good knowledge of Python. You are familiar with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins, etc.) and are proficient in tools such as MS Azure, Databricks & GitHub Action.

Education: completed education with a master’s degree (UNI/TU/FH) preferably with a focus on computer science, software engineering, technical computer science, physics, mathematics, or engineering with a strong IT background.

Language: very good German and English language skills, professional or product-specific certifications are a plus.

Additional information

Work-Life Balance: flexible working hours through an attractive flextime model, home office option, as well as automatically free window days.

Sports & Prevention: numerous health and sports activities, individual medical advice, company pension scheme, and various insurance offers.

Service & Additional Benefits: meal allowance, employee discounts, and modern work equipment.

Further education opportunities: professional and personal development opportunities, seminars and individual coaching, educational leave/educational sabbatical, as well as a structured and supportive onboarding program for entry.

Attractive framework: discounted leisure activities, internal employee events, and various cultural promotions.

In addition to all the benefits already mentioned, it is important for us to offer an attractive compensation package. The gross salary is at least €52,430 p.a (including 13th & 14th salary, 38.5 h/week, collective agreement for the metal industry). Depending on your qualifications and professional experience, there is a willingness to significantly exceed this amount.
