HTL Zero Emission Challenge powered by MAGNA

HTL Zero Emission Challenge powered by MAGNA

In 2019 MAGNA launched a competition among the higher technical colleges within Austria.

A higher technical college, HTL for short, is a vocational school in Austria with a focus on technology and economics.

At the end of school the students are almost 19 years old. They get a diploma certificate which documents the professional qualification in EQF 5 (European Qualifications Framework)!

The aim of this “HTL Zero Emission Challenge powered by MAGNA“ is to put more emphasis on interdisciplinary automotive engineering in education.

For this purpose, a comprehensive regulation was developed together with MAGNA, which is strongly based on the Formula Student regulations.

Evaluation criteria, such as efficiency, construction design and degree of innovation of the vehicle also include dynamic driving tests such as:

  • skidpad
  • acceleration test at 30m
  • slalom test
  • continuous run of 7 km, time and energy consumption

The “3rd HTL Zero Emission Challenge powered by MAGNA“ will be held in Weiz on Wednesday, October 23. 2024 (presentations) and in Gleisdorf/Ludersdorf ARBÖ FSZ Steiermark (dynamic events) on Thursday, October 24. 2024.
